How often should I reseal my driveway?

Is your driveway letting down the rest of your home? There’s no need to put up with a faded, patchy or dull driveway when the solution is so simple.

Spot the signs

If your driveway looks faded, patchy or dull when dry, but darkens when wet, it is definitely time to reseal. Dulux Avista Concrete Sealers give driveways a 'freshly poured' look, providing durability while restoring the smooth, even appearance of the concrete.

How often should I reseal?

We recommend resealing every two years to protect your driveway and help keep it in top condition. You may need to reseal more often if your driveway is exposed to heavy traffic, excess dirt or friction (eg from tyres).

Dulux Avista Concrete Sealers can be used on most exterior concrete surfaces including concrete driveways, porous pavers, resurfaced concrete, and stencilled, stamped and coloured concrete.

Why should I reseal?

As well as keeping your driveway looking good, sealers provide vital protection. Dulux Avista Concrete Sealers create a durable coating that blocks the pores of the concrete to prevent dirt penetrating, making the surface easier to clean and maintain. Sealers also provide powerful UV resistance and will prevent your driveway from fading and weathering over time.

How can I keep my driveway looking good for longer?

Regular sweeping and cleaning will help extend the life of your sealer. You should also keep your concrete driveway clean by using a general purpose cleaner. If any oil spills occur, stop the spread by quickly covering with absorbent material.

Can I add colour while sealing?

Yes! Resealing is an opportunity to transform the look of your driveway by adding a sealer tint in one of 19 designer colours, including four popular Colorbond shades. To colour, refresh or re-colour your concrete driveway, Dulux Avista Tintable Base is mixed with Dulux Avista Colour Tint. The result? A protective coloured coating to re-colour or refresh your tired concrete driveway.

Can I add slip resistance to my driveway?

Increase the safety and slip resistance of your concrete driveway by adding Dulux Avista Slip Reducing Additive or Dulux Avista Crushed Glass Additive to your sealer. These products can be used to achieve slip resistance across the entire Dulux Avista Concrete Sealer range.

How to choose the best sealer for the job

The Dulux Avista Tintable Base is a hugely popular choice for homeowners looking to add colour while they seal. If you want a clear sealer, the Dulux Avista Concrete Sealer Extended Wear is a protective coating that resists weathering, UV exposure and dirt ingress.

If you’re after a high gloss finish that's ready to walk on in record time, Dulux Avista Polyaspartic Sealer creates a protective barrier against abrasion, chemicals, friction and UV exposure. It cures within hours, so you can get back to using your driveway faster! We also offer a sealer for exposed aggregate concrete
